Policies

Appointment Policy

Appointments are booked by phone. Please leave a message and your call will be returned at the earliest convenience. If you should need to cancel your appointment, please do so with 24 hours’ notice, or you will be charged for your session. Sessions begin and end at scheduled times. Sessions begun late due to the client arriving late, end at the appointed time and are full price.

Confidentiality

The massage/bodywork profession has a code of ethics and respects clients’ rights of confidentiality. Consent must always be given for any massage procedure.

Sexual Appropriateness

Sexual behavior by the client toward the therapist or by the therapist toward the client is unethical, inappropriate and unacceptable. Sexual harassment is not tolerated. If the therapist safety feels compromised, the session is stopped immediately with payment due in full.

Payment

Payment is due at time of service.

Expectations

Please plan on arriving a few minutes early for us to address your goals for our session. If this is your first massage with me, or ever, please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can discuss your health, your goals and I can show you what we will be doing for our session. My number one concern is for your safety and to make you feel safe and comfortable during our session. If you plan on working out prior to receiving treatment, please shower before your massage. Also, please do not wear any strong perfume or cologne, and please make sure to silence all cell phones. I will show you into the treatment room and discuss your health history, goals for the session, and how I plan to meet those goals. I will then leave the room to allow you to undress and get onto the table. You may wear as much or as little as you wish; whatever is most comfortable for you, but too much clothing may hinder the effectiveness of the work. I work with my clients fully draped, which means that there will be sheets for you to cover yourself, and only the portion I am working on will be uncovered. Once you are under the covers, I will knock to make sure you are ready, and come in to begin the session. I usually work with light music. I will check in with you regarding pressure, temperature and your comfort. Please feel free to let me know anything that makes you uncomfortable, you are the one in control and you are the only one who knows what is going on inside your body the best. When the session is finished, I will leave the room again so you can get dressed.
